Data for Democracy Hackathon in Louisville

Mar - Louisville is one of only 7 cities nationwide hosting an onsite event in conjunction with Data for Democracy's global hackathon, Mar 31- Apr 1 at LouieLab. Hacakathon attendees will be developing an API which will help improve analysis of the legislative process in Kentucky.

Louisville projects for Code for America's Open Data Day

Mar - Code for America held its sixth annual CodeAcross event, Open Data Day, which coincided with International Open Data Day. The goal was to open public data and inspire residents everywhere to get actively involved in their community, and Louisville delivered.

Feb - Code for America will hold its sixth annual CodeAcross event, which this year is being called Open Data Day, to coincide with International Open Data Day. It's a weekend of civic hacking events hosted by over 100 cities of the Code for America network around the world. The goal is to activate the Code for America network and inspire residents everywhere to get actively involved in their community.

National Day of Civic Hacking Louisville 2015

May - Hack for Change Louisville was held as the city’s official Code for America National Day of Civic Hacking event, one of over 100 simultaneous events across the United States. The day brought together local government leaders and staff, local organizations, non-profits, businesses, visitors, and community members and was focused on civic innovation.

Helping the Visually Impaired Navigate Louisville Using Open Data

Mar - The Civic Data Alliance has taken open GIS data from the city of Louisville and organized volunteers to load it into Open Street Map so the American Printing House can use it in their mobile app for the visually impaired.
